that a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council following the resignation on 6 May 2026 of Councillor M. Horton
If by 26th May 2026 a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors** for the said Parish ward of Knightwick, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

5. Clerk’s report and Lengthsman matters.
Cllr Bellamy raised the issue of the road surface in the old Bromyard Road. It requires sweeping and repairing.
There is a market stall available for the PC to use on the 12th April to liaise with parishioners.
Reports from the Lengthsman were welcomed and issues to be reported on include the road surface at Bridge Cottage, Suckley Road has deteriorated, the bend at the top of Rectory Lane has become slippery and vehicles have left the road there, the Livery Signs are needed in Easinghope Lane.
The new replacement notice board will be installed shortly.
6. Items for the next meeting.
Community engagement for the PC, River Erosion and the attendance of the EA if possible.

Public Question Time and reports prior to the formal meeting.
County Cllr Mc Sweeney reported on CC matters, PC Ash on community safety and local law issues. Members of the public raised matters relating to the renovation of a local pond, planning matters, telecommunication issues, boule court and first aid equipment.
Members’ Apologies, Dist Cllr Rouse, Dist Cllr Whatley, Simon Warr (Tree warden) and Declarations of Interests. No new declarations.
Resignation of Cllr R Ashton. The PC wish to express their thanks to him for his outstanding contribution to village life, notably the new tennis court and play area. Notices about the new vacancy will be posted.

5. New Lengthsman, John Sutton, Updated the PC on his first month and future plans. The PC also asked if Mr Sutton would undertake additional monitoring and basic maintenance works around the Playing Field and Tennis Court areas.
6.Planning and Environmental Matters;
a) Local Design Plan draft update: Councillors noted the progress and will work to include consultation on the matter in the survey and at the Annual Meeting of the PC in May.
b) Local questionnaire about planning, housing and transport considered and a small subcommittee formed to complete preparations for issuing the consultation document.
c) Vote on whether the PC agree with Mr & Mrs Price barn naming – WITHDRAWN
d) M/25/01897/TDC5. Location: Land At (OS 7497 5332), Folly Road, Alfrick.
Erection of 1 no. two-storey dwelling (self-build). SUPPORTED
Bleed Kit. Now purchased. Housing box to cost £74.19 ex VAT and new signage for bleed kit and Defib units at up to £120 APPROVED
Tennis court. New netting, at a cost of £300, to prevent rebounds from the ends of court fencing. To be paid from the Former Tennis Club funds. APPROVED
Co-Option rules minor amendments. APPROVED
10. Alfrick Bus Shelter. Modifications to the bus shelter are continuing with a broader seating bench to be fitted and for works to the stepped edge of the base to be considered.
Alfrick Spinney. 2026/27 maintenance schedule for the Spinney. Trimming back of undergrowth o start in April and take place every 2 months to October inclusive in line with Tree Wardens proposals.
12. Grit bin for Whitehouse Lane. Delivery still outstanding.
Telecommunicationservices. Acceptance of offer of signal booster unit from WCC and proposal for siting at Cllr Catlow’s property. APPROVED
Carpark and hard standing. Project now underway and will be completed shortly.
. Clerk’s Report –
Tennis Court overhanging trees and dying ash trees in playing field have been dealt with by tree surgeon. New sign for the Spinney is ready for installation. The Boules Court is now completed and some equipment has been donated.
