Minutes of the meeting of the Parish Council Meeting on<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 January 2026 at 19:00 hrs in the Village Hall, Alfrick.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a> Present:<\/strong> Cllr T. Clarke, Cllr S V Glazzard,<\/strong> Cllr Hayward, Cllr Prodger, Cllr Golden-Laydon, Cllr Messervy-Whiting, Cllr G. Lowe, R. Timney (Clerk)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Question Time and reports prior to the formal meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Cllr Mc Sweeney reported on CC matters, PC Ash on community safety and local law issues. Members of the public raised matters relating to the renovation of a local pond, planning matters, telecommunication issues, boule court and first aid equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Resignation of Cllr R Ashton. <\/strong>The PC wish to express their thanks to him for his outstanding contribution to village life, notably the new tennis court and play area.<\/strong> Notices about the new vacancy will be posted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      d) Precept request from MHDC at 0% increase. APPROVED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      32\/2023-24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      5<\/strong>. New Lengthsman<\/strong>, John Sutton, Updated the PC on his first month and future plans. The PC also asked if Mr Sutton would undertake additional monitoring and basic maintenance works around the Playing Field and Tennis Court areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      6.<\/strong> Planning and Environmental Matters;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      a) Local Design Plan draft update: Councillors noted the progress and will work to include consultation on the matter in the survey and at the Annual Meeting of the PC in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      b) Local questionnaire about planning, housing and transport considered and a small subcommittee formed to complete preparations for issuing the consultation document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      c) Vote on whether the PC agree with Mr & Mrs Price barn naming – WITHDRAWN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      d) M\/25\/01897\/TDC5. Location: Land At (OS 7497 5332), Folly Road, Alfrick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Erection of 1 no. two-storey dwelling (self-build). SUPPORTED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Bleed Kit<\/strong>. Now purchased. Housing box to cost \u00a374.19 ex VAT and new signage for bleed kit and Defib units at up to \u00a3120 APPROVED<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. Tennis court<\/strong>. New netting, at a cost of \u00a3300, to prevent rebounds from the ends of court fencing. To be paid from the Former Tennis Club funds. APPROVED<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          1. Co-Option<\/strong> rules minor amendments. APPROVED<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            10<\/strong>. Alfrick Bus Shelter<\/strong>. Modifications to the bus shelter are continuing with a broader seating bench to be fitted and for works to the stepped edge of the base to be considered.

            1. Alfrick Spinney<\/strong>. 2026\/27 maintenance schedule for the Spinney. Trimming back of undergrowth o start in April and take place every 2 months to October inclusive in line with Tree Wardens proposals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              12. Grit bin for Whitehouse Lane<\/strong>. Delivery still outstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Telecommunication<\/strong> services. <\/strong>Acceptance of offer of signal booster unit from WCC and proposal for siting at Cllr Catlow\u2019s property. APPROVED<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                1. Carpark and hard standing<\/strong>. Project now underway and will be completed shortly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  1. . Clerk’s Report<\/strong> –<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                    Tennis Court overhanging trees and dying ash trees in playing field have been dealt with by tree surgeon. New sign for the Spinney is ready for installation. The Boules Court is now completed and some equipment has been donated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
